We are still in the second half of 2026 but there is already been plenty of good movies to drop on Netflix so far. From Gritty crime thriller to survival action and plenty of good stuff in between.

01) Humint (IMDB -6.4) :
North and South Korean intelligence agent who clash while investigating a drug operation on the Russian border. Humint is somewhat like a Korean Jeson Bourne movie with tons of great action scene from brutal gunfights and chaotic car chases.
The espionage angle is also really well done giving you a constant sense that everyone is hiding something. The cold, rain-slicked Russian streets add a nice touch as well. If you want a fast paced, high production spy thriller. You will find Humint to be one of the better Netflix Movie to drop this year.
02) Remarkably Bright Creature ( IMDB -7.9) :
It’s based on the best selling novel about a widowed night-shift dreams at an aquarium who form an unusual bond with a giant Octopus. Remarkably bright creatures is a heartfelt movie about dealing with grief where you are slowly learning more and more about the tragic pasts of the characters.
It definitely a slower warmer movie that is one of the more unique new films to release in 2026 so far. If you are in the mood for something more uplifting and quite emotional, this remarkably bright creature is definitely worth checking out.
03) Peaky Blinders:The immortal Man (IMDB-6.3) :
One of the biggest events movies to drop on Netflix this year was the period drama peaky blinders: The immortal man, it brings back the style, danger and sharp character drama that made the show such a big hit in the first place.
The Immortal man takes the place during world war II and we find Tommy Shelly now older and more reclusive. But he is pulled back into the Fray when new threats force him to reckon with his past. The immortal man does a good Job of not feeling like just an extra long episode of the show.
It actually feels worth the movie length with a top of his game Cillian Murphy, some epic world war II visuals and an entertaining story. The down side is you probably need to have seen the series first in order to truly enjoy this but if you have finish the 6 season considered peaky blinders-the immortal man to essential viewing.
04) Apex (IMDB- 6.2) :
Apex follows a woman who’s trip to the Australia wilderness turns into a nightmare when she becomes the target of a brutal hunter. Apex is a high speed thriller that feels like a mix between the movies deliverance and the most dangerous game. Its all about a predator chasing down his prey in the backdrop of deadly Australian environment.
Jason Egerton actually makes for a great psycho and his movie does a really good job keeping a fast pace and changing things up to keep it interesting. It might not be the most original movie in the world but its fun and doesn’t take itself too seriously. If you are down for a short and sweet survival thriller that keeps a fast pace. Apex is definitely worth adding to your list.
05) War Machine (IMDB-6.3) :
Its about special ops recruits who are on a training exercise when a massive extra terrestrial killing machines comes after them. War Machine is very much a turn your brain off to enjoy the rider type of movie. Its not trying to be serious in any way and instead it is all about over the top action stunning visuals and ”never quit spirit”.
Its kind of a throwback to 90s style action movie like predator and starship Troopers. Its got the same one liner and big explosive scale. If you want a movie that makes you floor boards shake and lets you watch. Alan Ritchson go toe to toe with a robert, war machine is the dear winner for 2026 so far.
06) 28 Years later: The Bone temple (IMDB-7.3) :
This is easily one of the most intense 2026 movie on Netflix right now. It is the post epocalyptic, 28 years later-The bone temple. It is directed sequel to last year 28 years later and follows spikes who gets pulled into a Satanic Cult, and Dr, Kelson, who experiment on Zombie and makes some interesting discoveries. Both these plot lines are really entertaining and come to a head together eventually.
07) The Rip :
If you prefer more grounded and gritty thriller, an intense pressure cooked movie release this year called The Rip. It follows a team of Miami cops who discover millions of cash inside a stash house causing trust to start breaking down fast.
The Rip is one of those movie where you have no idea who is a good guy, who is bad. On the surface it looks like a familiar cops and Cartel money movie, but once the money shows up things get very cutthroat.
Its a lot darker and more intense than you might expect and this is the kind you throw on when you want a hard crime thriller where greed, pressure and distrust keep making everything worse. The Rip is a great movie with a classic cinema feel and is easily one of the best flicks to drop on Netflix in 2026.
08) Dad Man’s Wire (IMDB -6.5) :
Its an excellent movie about a hostage situation and gets pretty intense but also has some quirkiness to it. Both Bill Skarsgard and Dacre Montgomery are excellent. Dead man’s Wire is definitely worth a closer Look.
